＜A beautiful and charming shellworks which never exist any same shape＞
Many kind of shellworks are made in islands of Kagoshima prefecture. For example, South Sea Pearl is rare in Japan, but it is produced in Amamiooshima island. There is too cold and severe for South Sea Shell, so the pearl is smaller than imported pearl. But the shells are grown carefully for a long time there, so its pearl has smooth and clear skin. And semicircular pearl made by Pteria penguin is so unique. Though Kagoshima islands's area is the northern limit of Pteria penguin's habitat, the workman have a great skill to farm. Moreover they produce the heart-shaped pearls and the tear-shaped pearls naturally. In another island, the pearl is produced as same. By the way, Yoron island where is in the southern end of Kagoshima prefecture has a second name "Oriental Pearl".
