@The sweetpotato is called the Karaimo under the Kagoshima dialect. It is made from glutinous starch syrup of sweetpotato and glutinous starch syrup of maltose made from sweetpotato. The material is sweetpotato only. Kagoshima people usually call it Karaimoyuruame. It is roasted on an open fire, so the sweetness and Umami give the perfect taste. In general, it is eaten rolling by the disposable wooden chopsticks as same as starch syrup. It is said if it is eaten after it becomes white by rolling long, the taste becomes better. Grandmothers tell grandchildren. It is very soft and east to eat. And it is suitable for cook as a seasoning. The candy make dishes good. It is made without any food coloring and any additives.
