Kagoshima prefecture is the about 4th biggest peanut-producing area in Japan. Kanoya city produces peanut most in Kagoshima prefecture. Kagoshima dialect call a peanut "Dakkisyo". Kanoyan Dakkisyo means the peanut made in Kanoya (Ka-no-ya) city. The peanut isn't the dried peanut for Kagoshima people. They sometimes eat the dried peanut, but not often. They ussually eat the boiled peanut with deep love.
 We are often asked "Kagoshima prefecture peanut and Chiba prefecture peanut are same, aren't they?". In fact, they are different at all. Chiba soil is sand, on the other hand Kagoshima soil is loam. The soil have an effect on their taste. People often say that Chiba peanut taste as chestnut, but Kagoshima one taste as sweetpotato. Is you eat them at the same time, you will understand it.
 The peanut made in Kanoya taste thick and very delicious. It is freezed after boiling with salt. Only to thaw by running water is possible to eat soon. It is very easy.
